I forgot about Gamesworld (mainly because I didn't have Sky when in the 90s)! Thanks for reminding me!

They were both made by Hewland International with Gamesmaster on C4 and Gamesworld on Sky One. According to Wikipedia David Walliams played a character called Lesley ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Games_World ).

GamesMaster was a Sky Tv production and they did a parallel version called Gamesworld as i recall for Channel 4, or was it the otherway around. Anyway, my mate was a runner for the show as a college student wanting to get into film & TV. Apprently most of the time they didnt have enough / any callers to ask the Gamesmaster/Patrick Moore or the Games Mistress questions about cheats etc. So they used to get the production team to do the fake phone-ins.

I also loved the fact that the various 'games experts' would often play several personas within a single show and you werent supposed to notice that the Scarlett Pimpernel (for example) was also playing some other character.

For years i was also convinced that David Walliams of Little Britain fame was the same guy who played the Scarlett Pimpernel. He wasnt, but they sure were similar folk.

P.s. The Games Mistress was a bit too overtly sexual for a teens TV programme.
