I've missed the last couple of SMC_MCR's due to other commitments, but I'm planning on making the next one. I think we may sign ourselves up to do a session about Twaffik.

Right now, Twaffik is pencilled in to expand outside of Manchester as we're in discussion with a couple of people who are interested in having the service for their city. Much to iron out yet, but maybe we'll have something to say soon-ish.

Over at i4SM we are also laying the foundations for a social media based case study on Factory Records and it's role in the cities regeneration. I have a skeleton architecture for this and I'm quite excited about how it may shape up. Being part of Manchester Business School there is obviously an academic angle to this, but we want it to be much more than *just* an academic resource. Again, more details to follow soon, but if you have any thoughts about how that may shape up, let me know. Not much to go on, granted, but we're a smart bunch us SMC'ers.

But, it's great to see SMC picking up momentum and putting Manchester on the map.

-paul.

Totally agree, there is a really good buzz going around the city about Social Media at the moment, some exciting ideas going down with the BBC rolling up shortly, I think it could become a hub for future media. Exciting times.

Big thanks Martin and all who attended and contributed to make this a successful evening. Being an old Mancunian ex-pat I love coming back to the city. It always feels like coming home and smc_mcr has given me another excuse to do so. I enjoyed the format, the interaction and the content and would have liked to have partaken in all 6 sessions but alas I am only one.

Putting Manchester firmly on the social media map is creating the sort buzz and creative energy in the city that would make Mr Wilson proud.
